Shannon began her professional singing career in 1991 as part of the three girl group Demimonde, under contract with Saban Entertainment. Although singing pop music provided Shannon's initial experience in the business, her musical passion was deeply rooted in Country. After the Demimonde producers insisted that she "knock off the twang" when she sang, Shannon turned her talents full time to country music.

Keeping "the twang" and focusing on wriitng her own Country music, Shannon's original songs of life's triumphs and tragedies are enhanced by her love of poetry of wordplay. Shannon Rae's self titled EP cassette, of five original songs, was arranged recorded by noted Country music producer, Marty Rifkin.

The power and precision of Shannon's voice echos the influences of Linda Ronstadt and Wynonna. Shannon's stage presence reflects her successful career as a model and corporate spokesperson.

Shannon has supercharged the LA Country music scene by captivating audiences from the local honky-tonks and roadhouses to the stages of the legendary country music showcase clubs such as the Palomino and the Crazy Horse Saloon. Shannon has also shared the stage with country music entertainers Roy Clark, Janie Fricke and others to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
